We pride ourselves on our personalized approach to music lessons, and work hard to make lessons meaningful beyond learning the mechanics of playing an instrument. While learning proper technique and musicality, students are also learning skills of determination, self-expression, increasing fine motor skills and attention to task, and most importantly, they are learning how to learn new skills.
Students have the option to participate in two recitals each year, as well as studio-wide practice challenges to encourage and motivate students in their studies. Weekly 30-minute lessons take place at our Music Enrichment Center, located at 1800 7th Ave in Moline, just off I-74. Tuition is set at $25 per lesson, plus a one-time $20 registration fee. Traditional Lessons are available for piano, voice, guitar, drums, bass guitar, and ukulele.
Adaptive Music Lessons
In addition to teaching traditional music lessons to beginner through advanced students, our instructors are specially trained by our music therapists to provide adaptive music lessons to students with special needs who may require adaptations to the instrument, notation, or lesson format.
This includes, but is not limited to, students with:
- ADHD
- Anxiety
- Autism
- Cerebral Palsy
- Down Syndrome
- Learning Disability
- Physical Disability
- Traumatic Brain Injury
- Other Developmental Disabilities
Students who enroll in music lessons may also participate in Music Celebrations and recitals designed to promote self-confidence and appropriate social interaction.
Adaptive Lessons available for piano, guitar, ukulele, voice, and drums. Other instruments may be available for adaptive lessons upon request.
Quad Cities Music Therapy also offers Group Music Classes for children and adults! Students will be inspired by one another, learn ways to give constructive feedback, and grow in musical abilities together.
Group classes also provide opportunities to play in ensembles, create and compose music, and learn proper rhythm and technique through engaging multi-sensory activities.
Students will have the option to perform in recitals during the year, as well as studio-wide practice challenges.

ATTENDANCE AND CANCELLATIONS
The last 3-5 minutes of class/lesson time may be used to consult with parents/caregivers if needed, as well as to disinfect piano/keyboard.
Please directly contact your teacher as soon as possible if the student will be absent due to illness. For planned absences, please notify your teacher in writing by email or text message, a minimum of 48 hours before the scheduled lesson.
Financial credits for missed lessons will only be issued if the teacher cancels a lesson and is unable to reschedule. Financial credits will be applied to the next month’s tuition.
PRIVATE STUDENTS who cancel due to illness or with more than 24hrs notice will be issued a makeup credit. This makeup credit may be redeemed for a lesson during available openings at the teacher’s discretion. Lessons that are missed with less than 24hrs notice will not be issued a makeup credit, and tuition for that lesson will be forfeited. Students/Families are responsible for scheduling their makeup lesson. This may be done through our studio portal, Opus1.io. Only two makeup lessons are allowed every 90 days, and makeup credits expire after 90 days.
GROUP PIANO STUDENTS who miss a class will not be eligible for a makeup class or credit.
Students will not be charged for studio holidays or teacher cancellations.
LESSON MATERIALS
All necessary lesson books and materials will be obtained by Quad Cities Music Therapy. The cost of the first set of lesson books will be covered by the initial registration fee. The cost for subsequent lesson books and materials will be added to the student’s account balance on My Music Staff and billed along with the following month’s tuition.
Students are expected to bring all their materials to each class or lesson.
After each class/lesson, practice notes and assignments will be emailed to parents with guidance for the next week.
TERMINATION
We always hope that students will continue on in music with us, but understand that sometimes there’s a need to move on. Two weeks written notice is required to discontinue lessons. If insufficient notice is given, the student/parent will still be responsible for the tuition for the two-week time period.
The teacher reserves the right to terminate lessons at any time for inappropriate student behavior. Tuition for lessons which the student has not yet attended will be refunded if the teacher terminates lessons.
